This is a data acquisition portal that has been developed by Tufts University using the Open Geoportal. This is a pretty good looking data clearinghouse, and has geospatial data available for Virginia as well as internationally. I think that the best part about this portal is that it is clear, intuitive, and easy to use.

Jarlath O'Neil from the University of Vermost Spatial Analysis Lab created an online tutorial video showing how to download and use landsat data in ArcGIs 10. He also discusses how to prep the data as well as explaining various band combinations.

Photo2GPS is a software program that allows users to easily integrate digital photographs with a GPS tracklog. The software synchronizes the both the GPS clock with the clock on your digital camera. Note that as of March 2010, this software is only compatible with Windows XP (not compatible with Vista and Windows 7).
